Hi, I’m Susan harper.
I’m an LPCC-S (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor & Clinical Supervisor) and Sex Therapist providing teletherapy and clinical supervision in Kentucky. I am passionate about the work I do and can’t imagine doing anything else! I love having the privilege of sharing such vulnerable and connected spaces with my clients.
When I’m not working, you can usually find me listening to music (old school R&B all the way), doing something crafty/artsy, or napping with my cat! I’m a self-described introvert but also love connecting with my close friends and loved ones.
My Approach
I have been trained in a variety of methods for counseling, and I predominantly work from a person-centered perspective with influences from mindfulness-based and Family Systems perspectives. I am a sex therapist currently pursuing certification via AASECT. I have also completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Method Couple's Therapy. I am happy to offer insight into creating your own meditation practice, as well. My main priority in counseling is offering a safe, inclusive space for my clients to practice authenticity with themselves in order to make positive changes in their lives. I believe you are intuitively aware of your own needs for growth and change, and I respect your expertise in the therapeutic process.
My areas of specialty include:
Sex Therapy
Couple’s Counseling
Gender-affirming Care
Anxiety
Trauma
Personal Growth
Mindfulness
inclusivity
Finding inclusive spaces can be difficult. I approach therapy through an anti-oppression, social justice, anti-racism, and inclusivity lens. I am a member of and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
